For two years we have been conceiving and building WHO CARED. In November the time has come and we are officially launching our online archive \u2013 a steadily growing resource of videos and life stories of people who leave their homeland to work in care.<\/p>\n

Leading the way are the brave women who came to Germany from southern India's Kerala in the 1960s and 1970s. Their journey is only the beginning. From here, we want to expand into other countries and communities. Care migration is a global phenomenon whose relevance could not be more urgent. The history of these people spans the entire globe. What often gets lost in the discourse surrounding skilled workers is that they are human beings who bring a history with them \u2013 and in doing so, also change the history of their new home.<\/p>\n

At our Cologne event on 15 November at the Filmforum NRW, we are celebrating our journey so far, presenting the online archive, hearing the women speak themselves, featuring artistic contributions on the topic and presenting our vision of a global archive for care migration.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
